Hi all,

Trying to buy an Edinburgh to Inverkeithing super off peak return for today, using to start short at Dalmeny.

Trainline offers the ticket, but only as an e-ticket, and LNER only offers the normal off-peak return.

Any ideas why this might be?

Yes the fare setter is Scotrail. They have restrictions on issuing of super off peaks. Smart card or m tickets only o believe

Crikey, I didn't expect that...

Unfortunate that ScotRail have taken this approach as opposed to standard eTickets and simply not fulfilling super off-peak to paper, but it is what it is.

I ended up just paying the extra pennies for normal off peak instead.

ScotRail have been remarkably opposed to embracing modern ticketing methods. The awful method that are mTickets are quite a recent innovation on ScotRail, indeed about the same time that most other TOCs were happily embracing eTickets ScotRail were only just introducing mTickets. They'll catch up, eventually, but I do wish Transport Scotland would get them to pull their finger out and get with the program!

Surely doing anything the same way as in England is politically impossible by now?
