LNER connection at Selby

I have an Advance Single ticket:

07:01 Cross Gates - Selby
07:36 Selby - Kings Cross (LNER)

If my first train is delayed so that I arrive in Selby late and miss the connection, I cannot get the next LNER train from Selby as there are none that day. What would I be allowed to do in this case, please?

Worst case, if the 07:01 is cancelled or it is running so late that I know that I am going to miss the connection before I leave Cross Gates, would I be permitted to travel into Leeds and get the next LNER service from there?

If you miss the train at Selby, your next connection would arrive at KGX at 10:52, which is more than an hour late, so I'd say you have a right to be rerouted via Leeds if the Northern train is going to be 5+ minutes late.

Regardless of legal rights, unfortunately in practice it's likely to be very difficult to get anyone to actually offer that right for a train that's only 5 minutes late.

I see that in order to catch the 10:52 KGX arrival I would need to get a Northern train to York and connect to LNER there. Am I allowed to do that?
