But there are multiple complex engineering works underway, including on the ECML itself, meaning that they need to get the engineering trains in the right place and then close down and secure the engineering sites so that the work can be undertaken. York ROC will indeed be well staffed through to at least 1800 (when I believe the signalling shift change occurs) but they need to make sure that everything is in place to let the engineering work proceed.I know the RMT signalling staff industrial action is causing earlier close of service but this is East coast mainline not a rural secondary line with multiple manned boxes ! Surely York ROC etc should be staffed by managers to offer a reasonable service until at least 1600 ??

I know SE & GTR are saying they wont run much before Midday. LNER's website has the first departure from Leeds on the 27th at 1045That makes a lot of sense, so does this mean service start up on 27th will be much later than normal after strike days ?
Laughable and completely reflects the contempt the railways have for passengersClaim a fee free refund to rebook on another day which could cost a lot more money.
Only the railways will treat it's customers in such a manner, whatever happened to "if you have a ticket purchased for the 24th December you can use it on the 23rd, just make a new seat reservation on the website "
