Booked Advances from St. Pancras to Luton Airport Parkway travelling with EMR so only a very short journey anyway.
Booked with LNER because I had a voucher.
The booking email I received (see attached) tells me that there are no reservations left (I don't think there are any on this service just a booked place?)
More to the point it directs me to unreserved coaches (on an LNER service?) and tells me I might want to "try a different journey" which obviously I can't!
Interesting to know where somebody would stand if they took this advice!

Not sure whether this should sit here or in Fares & Policy, please move as necessary.

It isn’t an LNER service, it’s EMR (it’s not quite clear from your post whether you realise that) and there are no reservations on EMR class 360s!

Oh, I know the score!
It just seems LNER put some generic Azuma carriage advice on the email and then I just don't get the bit about trying a different journey when you've bought a train specific ticket!

But the picture the poster had placed on here has reservation information for LNER services!! That is where the confusion is.

Apologies, missed that. Ticketing really isn’t my specialist subject (clearly!). I’m sure others will advise…

This is a standard message when booking with LNER. Although your not traveling with LNER if the system cannot reserve a seat for you then this message always appears. It's stupid.

Yep if LNER want to add additional information regarding their services, they need to identify these and only specify this where relevant.

The good news is that key people at LNER do read this forum, I expect it will be fixed in due course.

Having booked tickets via LNER for travel on Southern trains recently (in standard class) it has amused me that the website carries a warning that they don't have details of the (non-existent) First Class menu for GTR.

LNER’s customer information strategy leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. The individual service updates on the website are often poorly worded, incomplete (in terms of actual alternative service provision) or misleading. Not to mention the sudden appearance of ‘a short notice change to the timetable’ being used as a catch-all reason for cancellations.

There's a fix coming soon, we do try to sit down and work our way through the site picking up errors but during holiday season it quite difficult to get enough pairs of eyes to make it worthwhile.

That's good to know, cheers.
It was more the encouragement to try a different journey that I thought could land people in bother :)

Presumably they mean "antimacassar"! ;)
Yes, I do have an annoying tendency to get letters the wrong way around when typing which is frustrating.
At least you managed to decipher my unintelligible mess.

Do you mean that 'short notice change to the timetable' is a DfT request? If so, not only is it unhelpfully vague, it seems to be DfT wanting to hide the real cause of the delay.
