I haven't even had that! The video interview didn't go as well as I wanted it to so I'm not expecting good news from this application TBH.
Good luck buddy! Just wondered If anyone that applied for KX had received any face to face interviews.

Completed my verbal reasoning test last week Thursday but heard nothing back yet. Shouldn't they let you know if you were unsuccessful?

I believe they will let you know either way. It can be a waiting game for sure!

Just to update, had my driver manager interview this afternoon. Lasted 45 minutes and there aren't any unexpected questions.

FYI, the interviewers said they received 4,200 applicants!

They will let you know but now there is a human element to it it all slows down. They must be working in batches.

Not a surprise - applications for TOCs like LNER, Avanti, GWR (long distance) regularly reach 000s, if not tens of 000s!

I’m a KX applicant and have a face to face interview on Friday. Hope you hear soon.

Are they competency based questions like the video interview?

Mine was on the 16th, so I'm not sure why this has happened so fast. I have an active application with another TOC from Jan 2021 and am still awaiting my dmi date for it.

Got my invite to interview for early Feb yesterday for Leeds. They may start sending them out now to all.
I hope you don’t mind me asking, but did you use a PR postcode in your application? With Preston being over an hour away I thought you’d be sifted out, interesting if not.

Struggling to see the well-debated difference between DMI and MMI.

Considering some of us have just done an interview with 6 questions (think of a time where you've done xyz) with a driver manager and a senior driving operations manger is this either the DMI or MMI? If not, are we essentially going to do the same interview again later on if successful?

The DMI stands for driver manager interview and is company specific. MMI for multi modal interview and is part of the assessment.

The DMI can have have a similar amount of competency based interview questions as the MMI which is helpful as you’ll already have them in your pocket, but the amount will vary TOC to TOC, some might have less, some more. The main difference is this….DMI - TOC specific and will include knowledge of the company, what you will bring to the role etc. MMI - a set pool of competency based questions that are industry specific.

The one you have just done is the DMI which is company specific and whether the company want you to work for them.
The MMI is part of the pyschometrics and if passed, valid nationally for 5 years along with the other tests. In reality, I recall both interviews being very similar but this will of course vary depending on the TOC

Seems like they have a lot of video to get through. Supports someone's earlie theory of 'batches'.

Has anyone else recieved any other news? Whether it be good or bad

Just got this too! Me being a pessimist genuinely thought it was a rejection email from reading the first line as a preview. I don’t get how it takes so long as they have taken down most of the applicants by sending rejection emails after the judgement tests. Seems to be they are quite inefficient :|

Regarding your application for the role of Apprentice Driver (Kings Cross), reference 1071

Thank you for your continued patience. Please be assured that we are working our way through the applications as quickly as possible and we will get back to you regarding the outcome of your video interview as soon as possible.

Kind regards

The folks in HR tend to work office hours, and with COVID and some folks still working from home, it is going to take time to manually review the video interviews.

Besides, the railway is littered with inefficiencies, but there's often a reason why they done in that way - start getting used to it.

To reiterate my previous posts, you just need to be patient.

No news at all yet, had the first holding email but not a second one yet.

I agree! It must be quite the task to watch 1000s of video interviews and to do it justice!

I know we are in an age where we are used to instant gratification, acknowledgements, responses, processes and outcomes arrive in a blink.

Folks forget the human element in all of this, and that takes time. I guess we would get a far quicker response if the video interviews didn't happen.

I applied for Leeds and heard absolutely nothing since doing my video interview. Not even a holding email.
