I recently bought an Advance single from Kings Cross to Glasgow Central via Edinburgh from the said website but have had to change my itinerary. I'm now required to travel two days earlier as a result. I've read the refunds section and could someone confirm / clarify that I may be entitled to a refund minus the £10 admin fee provided I re-book the ticket for the exact same journey ? My original ticket was booked for a Saturday and I now need to travel on the Thursday , two days earlier. The ticket has aleady been collected so I assume I will have to return it.
Thanks

You can change your journey to a different date and time on the same train company and from/to stations.

This can be done at a competent staffed station, or through the retailer you originally purchased from. Some will sell you a new booking and credit the old one, others will issue an excess ticket for the new date. You will be advised when you make the change which of these processes is followed by your chosen seller.

The total extra to pay is £10 plus if the new journey is more expensive the price difference is due also.

I have just looked through my bookings and I am told that my journey is not eligible to be changed ? I spoke to customer services on the phone who said otherwise.

Just take yourself and your tickets to your local staffed station.
