Booked advance tickets on LNER for June on my LNER account and would like paper tickets as a keepsake.

It only gives me the option of etickets though.

Is this normal and any way around it, as I always prefer paper tickets.

This was on my laptop and iPhone via browser.

But seems to be the same on the LNER app.

You can print the eTickets yourself.
I do realise that. But a piece of A4 paper is not as nice as an actual mag stripe ticket.

Anyway, after an enquiry they gave me their reasoning.

The journey (which I ended up booking) is beyong the 12-week window, which explains the eticket as the only option. Once you book a ticket within that 12-week window that's where you seem to get paper ticket as an option too.

A couple of weeks ago I bought 2 Advance tickets to Kings Cross on 29th April and the e-ticket was the only option.
I was a bit wary of not having a "proper" ticket, but am more relaxed now having given it a try and finding the e-tickets are printable. I think this comes from having had my pocket unsuccessfully felt on holiday in Rome a few years ago, and the consequent fear of having my phone lifted along with much essential info etc.
Now that tickets for 1st May are available, this morning I bought an Advance for the LNER part of the return journey, and found that all the usual ticket options were there.
I wondered whether the "e-ticket only" option might be connected with easier cancellation of tickets should timetables be changed and many refunds need to be issued.

On a different aspect of buying tickets online.
Interesting to see that the allocated reservations for both the Avanti tickets from Euston to Glasgow and LNER from Stirling to Inverness both came up with 2 seats at the end of the coach alongside the luggage racks. These were soon edited.
Is it possible to select seats on the RailForums Ticket page? There are a couple of open Day tickets I need to get and will have a look there, but wanted to be selective for the longer legs of this trip.

It's to ensure that, when tickets are sold ahead of the 12 week timetable confirmation deadline, an email address is captured so that any alterations to the service can be notified.

Presumably if you bought an Advance ticket London Underground Zone 1 it would have to be a paper ticket whatever the time of booking.

That will be 12 weeks out from travel.
