LNER 61994 The Great Marquess was in charge of The Railway Touring Companies Four day Railtour "The West Highlander " with day one steam hauled from Preston to Glasgow central over Shap and Beattock . We first see 61994 with Gordon Hodgson on the regulator making short work of the climb towards Shap summit .The Marquess is then seen shortly after leaving Carlisle at Todhills but she was running under caution and trundled by me. Beattock sees 61994 approaching the summit making steady progress and after a brief stop in the summit loop she is seen under way again heading towards Elvanfoot.
