LMS 46233 The Duchess of Sutherland was at the helm of 3rd Railway Touring Companies railtour The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express from London Euston to Carlisle via Shap summit and back again over the Settle and Carlisle line . The tour started at Euston with two class 47's taking the train to Carnforth with 46233 taking over from there .The first shot sees the 46233 thundering past the loops at Grayrigg summit . The return was a change of planned location due to the heavy fog so we see 46233 hammering through Kirkby Stephen station and then on the way towards Greengates . I thought the exhaust would drift eastwards at Warton Dykes but it did not !
