Hi everyone.

I'm new to this forum so apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.

I recently applied for the Trainee Conductor role with London Midland and have been invited to an interview after successfully passing the assessment centre.

Can anyone give any advice of what to expect. I'm assuming there will be competency based questions but was wondering if anyone can provide any specific examples of questions I may be asked.

Thanking you all in advance

It's pretty much customer service customer service and more customer service. Give an example of when you gave good customer service. What things would you do to give good customer service to our passengers, how would you deal with an aggressive drunk passenger. What qualities do you have which allow you to give good customer service etc.

Hi TazzyWazzy

I'm afraid all you will get on here is a load of abuse about being lazy and not searching 10 years worth of archived postings before you created a new thread.

If you would like a constructive response please PM me as I have been through the process successfully.

I tried to send you a pm but it said something about being new and not having the permissions to do it.

Hey Scoobdoo123

I took mine on Wednesday 9th September. Got the email around lunchtime yesterday saying I'd passed.

Hope it's good news for you too mate

I did mine Wednesday morning so I think I haven't done enough to get through, else I would have heard, a little disappointed that they didn't send me an email to let me know either way. I know I give it my best shot so I won't beat myself up about it

Thanks Scoobydoo123

We were probably at the same centre. Wednesday at 11:45?

That's a shame mate. Don't give up though. Keep trying

I am an LM conductor. Make sure you read up on the company as they will probably ask what you know. Most of the rest will be asking for examples of customer service skills and coping in different stressful situations.

Had my interview yesterday.

Don't think I did too well tbh. But just want to say thank you to everyone for their help and advice.

Still hoping for a miracle though
