LM Great Escape

Just wondering.

If you were to buy an LM great Escape ticket for a Saturday, would it be valid for travel from London northwards on the 0034 or 0134 services? I've had a peek at the Ts&Cs and there doesn't seem to be any restriction on weekend validity.

Obviously you'd have a bit of a wait somewhere (unless you came back south on the 0340 southbound from Milton Keynes in which case you'd have an hour there).

I'm thinking of going out to a club on the Friday night as a birthday treat and getting the 0534 or 0624 to Birmignham and later to Hall Green for a curry but it'd be nice to have a backup in case I'm not enjoying the club as much as I expect.

But that doesn't stop it starting at 0000/0001.

If you get a TfL travelcard you can use it from 0001 to a service boarded by 0429.

However the Oyster cap runs from 0430 to 0429.

Dunno whether I should have started a new thread about this but its the same subject so...

I am planning on using the LM Great Escape deal on Tuesday the 19th to get down to London for the day. I am traveling from Liverpool South Parkway. I was hoping to get an early train down to crewe and then change onto the Euston service, the problem with this is that if I get the 8:44 from LPY it gets me into Crewe too late to catch the 9:02 that im allowed to travel on. I would probably catch it though, if i stayed on until Stafford. Great!..... London midland website states "although there are no time restrictions within the Network West Midlands area or for southbound journeys between Liverpool and Crewe". Do you think the guard would let me stick around to catch the 9:02 Crewe-Euston from stafford. Thanks.

We started our All Line Rover from Reading on the Down sleeper at 00:37,

Technically no, but no harm in asking before you get to Crewe.

That definitely sounds safest if you don't want to risk being an hour later getting down.

Don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place. I'll have to come back via Birmingham due to all the Crewe trains being within the forbidden 1700 and 1830 time bracket. Anyone got any other ideas to avoid 4 hrs on the way back.
