LM Great Escape query

Some advice please regarding the LM Great Escape ticket. I know I can not use the ticket on the 17:13 departure from Euston however can I board this same working at Rugby which departs at 18:38?

It's not valid departing Euston. You can travel from Harrow, Watford or Milton Keynes C and any station north of them. The only exception is in the morning where it isn't valid on any train before 09.30.

No. "Great Escape tickets are not valid on any trains departing Euston between 1700-1815 Monday - Friday." Note the restriction applies to trains departing Euston, not boarding at Euston, which is a significant difference.

Whether this would be enforced in practice is another matter. I doubt, for instance, that Great Escape passengers will be forbidden from travelling on the 19:14 from Alsager to Crewe.

I agree with 1E05. That is how the restriction has been worded in previous years.

I would say it's allowed from any station that isn't Euston, from the LM website. Note how it doesn't say on trains departing Euston but instead says tickets aren't valid from Euston, heavily implying validity from elsewhere.

Please note: On weekdays, Great Escape tickets are not valid from London Euston on the 1646 to Crewe or on any departures between 1700-1815. These services are already very busy, so to help everyone have a more comfortable journey, Great Escape tickets can’t be used on these trains Monday-Friday.

(my bold)

I've found LM to be prompt in answering questions about Great Escape if necessary, whether through email (like I did) or through Twitter.

Just ask the guard before boarding. If he/she gives you permission to use the ticket (which I suspect he/she would), you are covered under the NRCoC.

Just to keep you all up to speed, LM got back to me this morning informing me that the Great Escape tickets are valid on the 18:38 off Rugby which is the 17:13 departure from London Euston
