Llandudno - Manchester Club train December 1966

Although Llandudno Jct MPD closed to steam in October 1966 the above train (07.30 off Llandudno, I think) was frequently steam right to the end of the year (for example I had a Black 5 on the 28th). Does anyone know the provision and servicing arrangements involved? If the coastbound train was steam would the engine work LE back to Chester or would it stable in the remains of the shed for the next morning's working?

I seem to recall 9H Patricroft provided eng for the final months of club train
final run on dec 30 1966 m/c Llandudno hauled by 44766(not a pcroft loco)
