There's a Mk3 refurb programme? Oh dear!
There's a Mk3 refurb programme? Oh dear!
had a sneak preview in 'journeys' magazine of the decor in the refurbished class 158s. Unfortunately, they have gone down the road I hope they wouldn't have. The seats look awfully hard and plasticky, and the upholstery I'm in two minds about (it's red with randomly placed orange and blue dots down the centre bit). So I really hope DeltaRail don't do the mk3 refurb programme and rip out the BR seats...
yes, they certainly look like new seats anyway. Bit like the ones on the alphaline units we have but crapper.
Could you not get a photo with your phone or something?![]()
the train hasn't been released yet  it was in journeys mag, as said earlier![]()
so you're an upholstery enthusiast then?![]()
No, so we can actually see what its like....
Whilst I agree that 158s are suitable for Liverpool - Norwich, I feel the fact that AXC and LM has a 100% allocation of 170s it is much simpler. Perhaps LM should have got 158s instead of EMT?
Re above:
43081 is still in MML livery, but stopped for VP185 conversion which should see it emerge in EMT livery (as with 43083).
This is true, now only 2 Valentas on the MML.
43046 and 43064 I understand? I had 046 last week, nice PC![]()
43081 must have been stopped yesterday or today then cause I saw it at Leicester on the back of a London train on Tuesday.
222005 and 222021 are now in EMT livery (seen on fotopic). 222021 is also now 5 cars in length. Now only 5 Meridians left for re-paint. I wonder if 222017 will be painted? Or will it be left with its vinyls.
the junction.co.uk also advises:
"153321 has arrived at Neville Hill for a repaint into East Midlands Trains livery from its Heart of Wales orange advertising livery".
