recently saw some 222 cars being shunted by an 08 at etches park, maybe it was one of them


I'm not going to put 002 in the livery section, as to be honest, as it's a hybrid, I won't do so until it's in a normal formation again or renumbered.

Nothing new to report on the EMT Connect livery front, apart from all the 158s I've seen bar 2 CT ones and of course the SWT ones have EMT vynils. 153355 has partially been rebranded on the side that was attacked with graffiti, but it's odd as it just says 'EAST' on the side of it!

oh, and also, not really a livery update this - but 158856 has been moved, I noticed it seems to have gone from Brush at Loughborough, maybe it's ready for entering traffic again soon

Hmm, 222014 has a slightly different front to 222008/011/013. 222017 is different too. Cant they decide on a final design!

Also 222017 seems to has lost the red from one of its doors which is now grey again.

cheap crappy vynils, probably wasn't cleaned properley first, as 017 had to be done quick, it was used on the 2nd day of the franchise for the official launch

and there's different designs on EMTC trains too. On 153s there is no yellow on the side, however on the 156s, the yellow wraps round off the front.

Bit like SWT, the 'swoosh' designs are different on various 73s, and 455s

Updates on class 158 refurbishment:
According to a copy of the free Metro newspaper I found discarded on a tram, DeltaRail have won the contract to refurbish all of EMT's 158s (bar the 3 SWT ones if you count them), at Derby. The work is set to begin in August 2008 and will take about 15 months to complete.

As far as i know 158812 still in TPX Livery, Id of thought that it would be repainted when it goes through the refurb, or it might even be the first one in.

Not at all, used to be semi regular with Central Trains if they had half a 158 or 156 out.

Here's a combo in normal passenger service at Stafford way back in 1997.

When the 158s first came out didn't they used to be paired with 150s because of their brakes or something.

They were paired with 155/6's as they had problems activating track circuits in the wet.

I haven't seen 153326 for ages, and I don't really see 153321 knocking about, maybe these have gone in for painting?
