also another emt unit involved with a fatal collission on sat with a car between derby and crewe
It was at a level crossing near Tutbury & Hatton and our tour from Blackpool was nearly routed Crewe - Stoke-on-Trent - Birmingham New Street - Burton - Derby - Alfreton on the return rather than the booked Crewe - Stoke-on-Trent - Uttoxeter - Alfreton. Services were running Stoke-on-Trent to Uttoxeter, but being told to turn back there, but we were granted permission to pass through Tutbury & Hatton on our booked route.

Also, 156411 now in EMT livery, seen this afternoon @ Carlton. No more CT liveried 156s on the main line bar NXEA ones.

Derby Evening Telegraph reported it as a crossing failure, and the next day they were campaigning for newer systems, well money doesn't grow on trees!!

I've heard that he attempted to commit suicide - it was revealed that he was due in court the next day
It wasn't a crossing fault - I know a chap who works for Network Rail who went to examine the crossing.

Also - 158882 is now back in service - seen passing my house early this morning :)

As 156401 said, it was not a level crossing fault, it was suicide as the person involved was indeed due in Stafford Crown Court the following Monday for firearms offences.
Yet another case of it being the railway's fault

And 156411 follows me everywhere
Saw it at Nottingham about 3 weeks ago in EMT livery, so you're a bit slow there mate ;)

hmm... interesting - has the number officially been given? I.e. vynils placed on the front/rear?

Mate who works at whittlesea had to look twice when it worked to norwich last night, but yes it does :)

Should be on 1047 Norwich - Lime street but via Melton because of engineers between grantham and notts.

haha! that's like the time when I saw a driver had changed 'First Great Western' in one of the ex-Wessex Trains 158s to 'Last great Pestern'

many EMT 153s with vynils,
so far:
ATN Teal: 153319
FGW heart of Devon: 153302, 153308
NWT blue / gold: 153310, 153313
CT green: 153379

also, most TPE purple / gold 'N' 158s, and a few CT 158s with vynils

Edit: just seen 158866 (wessex alphaline silver) go past with EMT branding, looks really untidy considering the 'A' still in the background. Why choose to put the branding there in the middle?

Does that mean the 153's and 158's are going to be the last to get repainted?
