As noted previously in response to your earlier post:

http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17134

The status changed recently with 409 going into FCC livery:

In FCC livery
(7) - 321401-404/406/408-409

Not in FCC
(12) - 319008/009/011/012/013/214/215/216/217/218/219/220 in Southern livery.
( 1) - 319430 in Thameslink silver/blue.
( 6) - 321405/410 opting in Silverlink livery; 321407/418/419/420 stored at Hornsey in Silverlink livery.

Corrections welcome.

Okay thanks. Still refurbishment is planned though isn't it- to be carried out at Clacton including installing PIS

If any one has specific livery listing for 321/4s (inc London Midland units and FCC) would be useful. I seem to be incorrect as I have marked 421-432 in the white livery

No all refurbishment was caped when the extension was not given. Shame, because the plans (2+2 in parts) were good. And the 153 looked pretty nifty!

421/422/435/437 only ones still in service in Silverlink
423/432 only ex Silverlink white ones although 433/434/436 at Doncaster will presumably come back the same.
424 stopped at Clacton for staff training, not worked since Spring.
425 stopped at IL (Silverlink) since Easter and being used as a xmas tree like 346.
426/427/428/429/430/431 in service in full NX livery although 430 might be stopped currently also.

After NXEC fell through, the initial extension was cancelled but under the new Government, it has been extended.

are 321418-420 allocated to FCC or not? Wiki contradicts itelf by stating they are allocated to FCC before admitting they are unallocated

But NXEA have got an extension?

Which was only decided a few months ago and is only for nine months (plus options.) The refurb plans were based on the full three year extension and without a gap of almost a year when there was no decision one way or another.

c2c 357220 in NX livery

Not sure about that, old fella.

I'm pretty sure this was the unit that rolled into Liv St P6 next to my train at about 2130 last night and it was only partially complete. In fact, it had got the original green doors these units were delivered with (remember them?) and there were still rather a lot of purple around the panel joins and headlights. Not only that but all the windows had been masked on the inside, but I was just about able to see that the seats had been removed to facilitate an internal repaint.

The 317/5s were refurbished by One but did they replace flooring? Looking at wiki the flooring does not match the upholstery and looks very busy!

Yes the flooring is new. The refresh consisted of new flooring and seat covers, and a full internal repaint.

I am gathering an interest in the 317s as don't know much about them. It is interesting seeing the many differences in interiors and the 317/7 interior is rather splendid!

Yes, they are rather splendid aren't they. Very nice in First Class.

Thanks for that.

class 377s... some Southern units have a green carpet but obvious connexe style seating (grey/blue) was the carpet specified by Govia for being green? I also notice SouthEastern 375s appear to have blu table tops unlike Southern units
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Also did Wagn originally fit the 317/6s with purple seating or did this only take place after the livery change.. if so did they have different upholstery to match the earlier white/blue/red/grey colour scheme?

317512 came back from Chart Leacon on Monday night and should be out in service within the next few days, 317886 is currently at Chart Leacon being painted. (The one out of service is 317511 - there are a lot of roumers flying around about this unit at the moment but as there are so many I'm not posting anything until I see something for myself as to what is happening).

Hopefully the 317/6's will go next for repaint. 649/50 & 51 are desperate for a repaint as they still carry the WAGN livery - which as nice as it is - its looking very tired and tatty now. Will post again when I know anything about the /6's.

My understanding was that the Cl317/6's were going to be done as part of the Cl321 programme once all the "Bins" had been done, but that could have changed since. I would like to hope that they'd be done next once 886 comes back. 511 is going to take a bit more work before being fit to return to traffic so could still be a while coming.

As for the seat covers, the Cl317/6's were originally classified Cl317/2 and had the same internal layout as the older units of the same class (previously Cl317/1 now more commonly known as Cl317/5). WAGN, then under the ownership of Prism Rail, sent them away for refurb where they were repainted in the cream livery with red doors and given the current interior with 2+2 seating, new carpets, new lighting and moving the 1st class section to one end of the unit.

Okay thanks.

Regarding 886 and even 512 they seem to take forever to come out- must be a thorough job! The 317/8s in paticular seemed to take almost a year to finish!

317512 came out of Ilford tonight on 5H46 (1626 Ilford-Liverpool St) to form 2H46 (1713 Liv St - Cambridge). Providing it stays on the same diagram, it'll be finishing at Cambridge tonight. Not sure why this unit took so long to complete. 886 should be back within the next 2/3 weeks.

East Coast 91127 in silver livery.

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

Abrail notes southeastern 465012 [confirmed in video] and 465240 [confirmed in photo].

Abrail also notes c2c 357016 [video confirmed], 357018, 357221.

Confirmations for 357018/221 would be great.

Only a very minor point (and a bit petty really I suppose!) readers of Rail may have seen the small article titled 'C6X Overhaul for NXEA Class 317's' on page 27 of issue 655 - the 317/6's are to be done in numerical order - 317672 is the highest numbered /6, not 671 as Rail said.

Also, I'm not entirely sure how accurate that piece on 317511 is. My last update on 511 was last week, and I was told that 511 has been backwards and forwards between A shop, B shop, and the yard for whatever reasons. When asked about its move to Chart Leaon, I was laughed at (in a 'yeah right' tone, if that makes sense), so read into that what you will. 317886 is yet to come back from CL, so watch this space.

For anyone having difficulty following, with the 317s /2 and /6 are the same thing- they're numbered 3176xx, but the TOPS information panels on the units say they're 317/2. They were previously numbered 3173xx.
