Liverpool - Warrington via Wigan

Hi Everyone,
Quick queery, have some friends who want to travel between liverppol and warrington. If they went via wigan wallgate or north western would they be doubling back on themselves and therefore making thier ticket invalid?

While they would not be doubling-back, I don't think it's valid via Wigan.

Liverpool to Wigan is valid via Warrington, although that is more expensive.

The ticket would be valid to go to Wigan North Western and then from there direct to Warrington Bank Quay, they would not pass though one station twice in doing so

The only mapped route is via Hunts Cross.

That's not what I am seeing! (You need to buy multiple tickets for this journey)

It's easy to do, isn't it?

It might be worth mentioning that Liverpool to Earlestown is valid via Warrington (but also not via Wigan)

I notice that jrail1992 never actually said what the tickets are. If they aren't Liverpool-Warrington tickets, they may well be valid on the most obvious route. Liverpool-Stafford is one of the less obviously useful tickets on which they may be valid.
