Liverpool Street via HS1

Hi!

Looking for advice on a routing, please. If I have a Folkestone to London Terminals via HS1, and I want to go to Liverpool Street, is it valid via Stratford International and Stratford main line? I feel it isn't, as I've not seen it listed anywhere, but it must be a shorter route than going to STP and then back on the Tube. I'm going to do it, whatever, just need to know if I can do it all on that ticket!

Nope; you'd have to walk (unless you had a ticket that included such travel, i.e. Travelcard or ticket to relevant Zones)

Just piggybacking a similar question: I have an off-peak return from Stratford (London) to Manchester Stations (Valid only via London, restriction code 9I). Is it possible to start the journey at Stratford International, take HS1 to St Pancras and then walk to Euston? (And vice versa as well)

Also, if I use the return on a Friday, given that there are no restrictions into Euston on that day, but there are restrictions arriving into Stratford before 10am - how does that work if I want to travel early in the morning?

The fares are the same from both Stratford stations (and a number of others locally) but as they are issued from one or the other you might have problems with the barriers, and I would defer to others on the possibility of obtaining a zero-fare excess....

The restriction only applies to arriving at the main station - but as you can arrive via Tube using the + Cross-London routing I am not sure that can be enforced anyway.

Although it's a valid interchange, my understanding is that you are not supposed to start your (nominal) journey with a walk.

Certainly journey planners should strip out the walk and issue the ticket from the station you walk to, though that's moot in this case as there is no walk in the data

Ah. So what do you use to determine it's valid? It must be written down somewhere or is all about interpretation of maps or the shortest route rule? I'm really not up for aggro so might just use Oyster for Stratford-Liverpool St.
