Hi all,
Im travelling Liverpool Lime Street to London on Friday 5th October and returning on Sunday 7th October.
On the way there probably getting the 1048 train from Lime Street, not sure about the return.
Can anyone help with return ticket prices and/or any possible engineering work over that weekend?
Thanks in advance

The 10:48 is at £32.50 Advance currently.

Off-peak return is £74.20

I'd probably just buy that - nice and flexible.

Or £74.10 to Kensington Olympia with a tube fare thrown in.

You could get an advance ticket to London for £32.50 and an off-peak single for £37.10 (£69.60 total) from the Virgin web site.

Alternatively, you could get a London Midland only super off peak single for the return, which would cost £27.90, but adds at least an hour to the journey time. Or, if you can control your departure time, there are advance tickets from £19.

Similarly, you could save money on the outbound journey by taking a longer route (say, 09:34-11:18 Liverpool-Birmingham, 11:30-12:54 Birmingham-Euston, currently offered for £9+£15 advance).

There are no engineering works listed on the Virgin site which affect your journey, by the way.
