Liverpool Lime Street - Virgin 1st Lounge

I've read the Virgin website, and I think I understand the theory, but I wonder how it works in practice.

If I have a first open return Liverpool Lime Street-->Runcorn (£5.40), will this be accepted for entry in the Virgin first-class lounge at Liverpool Lime Street?

It should be accepted, I got into the one at Manchester Piccadilly with a FC ticket to Stockport

as long as you have an FC ticket that uses a virgin trains route you will be fine (in coventry you can only use VT FC tickets anyway)
