Liverpool Central bi directional running

Hi. Over the years, I’ve seen many trains from Moorfields arrive at Platform 2 at Liverpool Central and depart heading towards Brunswick…but one thing I don’t think I’ve ever seen is a train from Brunswick arrive at platform 1 and depart towards moorfields. Is this move possible…and has anyone ever seen it done?

https://www.opentraintimes.com/maps/signalling/northern shows that only one platform can be used for trains arriving from Brunswick. And that either platform can be used for trains arriving from Moorfields, as you say.

The section of track between Central and St James was designed (during the link + loop works) to accomodate a burrowing junction from Edge Hill (using either the disused Wapping or Victoria tunnels) so bi-di there never made much sense as the turnback siding was enough for operational needs.
