Travelling from Liverpool South Parkway to Liverpool JL Airport in a couple of weeks on a Saturday.

Can find details of times no problem. but cant find how much it will cost!

How much for a single adult journey please? (Flying back into Manchester)
Is the bus station actually at the rail station?
Is it a coach on the 501 route or an ordinary bus?

Any help or handy hints much appreciated please!

Thanks in advance.

501 is an Arriva Bendybus. Liverpool South Parkway is a huge interchange, all modern indoors and undercover.

Cash fare is £2 single, but you can also purchase tickets from your Yorkshire station to Liverpool Airport Bus, which includes your bus travel.

The bus stops at stand 4, the nearest stand to the ticket office.

I discovered there are some pricing inconsistencies with the Liverpool Airport bus fares compared to the Liverpool South Parkway fares from certain stations so make sure you're not paying more than £2 extra single or £4 extra on a Off Peak/Open Return for the bus add-on compared to the rail fare to South Parkway.

Should also mention Terravision operate a pretty excellent fast coach service (1 hour) from Manchester Shudehill and Manchester Sackville Street to Liverpool Airport

Price £8 single or £12 return. Pay on board or online. Easier to pay onboard.

Buses roughly every 60-90 mins from 4am to 11pm.

Used it a few times, never let me down yet.

Is the bus exact fare only?

I don't think Arriva North West have an exact fare policy, although with the fare being £2 each way that means the you're unlikely to need change unless paying by notes*, which some bus drivers don't like if they are low on coins.

* The only coin combinations I can think of requiring change is £1+50p + (3x20p) or (3x50p) + (3x20p) which would both require 10p change.

It's Speke depot, they will usually give change of £5 or £10, but if not, the booking office could give change and the Coffee shop is open most of the day.

There's not just the 501 shuttle, there is also the 86A every few minutes too from the same stand, at the same fare.

There's also an Arriva 80A from LSP to the Airport, 80A is every 20 minutes, Arriva just have one flat fare for single journeys in the Liverpool area.

Terravision are incredibly unreliable as a matter of fact. Always end up on a taxi when I try to travel with them.

I've used JL airport 5 times, up to 2 yrs ago.
Arriva buses operate flat fares - £2, or day saver ticket.
Security etc can be busy, allow plenty of time, especially if using Ryanair (read & digest T&G's!!) or it could cost ££00's.
I've used Lime Street, and took 40 minutes by bus. South Parkway is a lot closer.
Estimate taxi at £6. (Lime Street over £12)
