Live train times for Germany?

Hi. Is there an equivalent website to realtime trains for Germany?

Not exactly the same but there is DB's Zugradar which shows the position of all passenger trains.

In case of the Netherlands you can look it up in: www.ovtijden.com.

Delays are shown in Germany in red as: ca. (about) + 10. As now is with ICE 992 from Goettingen to Hamburg.

if you know the train number (not local trains), Zugfinder can give you info on delays and why (up to 1 month back). http://www.zugfinder.de/
You can also select an area, wait for it to load (top right) and you can see live running of the main trains (ICE/IC/CNL/TGV/Thalys).
For actual quality info, that'll be impossible. In March, during the storm which halted all traffic in North-Rhine-Westphalia, there was no clear info whatsoever on what trains were running. Some information said a train my friend was supposed to catch ran +12 minutes (delay also changed), but the train had never even departed.
Not sure why Germany/DB don't have as much open info as other countries.

You can call up station arrival/departure screens via this web site.

Having used that site you can then construct your own specific links with a little bit of editing.

The various bits of the URL work like this...

typ= : can be 'ab' (departures) or 'an' (arrivals)
bhf= : the numeric code for the station which can be replaced by an easier to remember letter code. Köln Hbf is kk for example. There's a complete list of these letter codes on this site.
bhfname= : allows you to change the name shown at the head of the screen though why you'd want to is a bit of a mystery.
zugtyp= : Left blank will show all trains but you can restrict it to specific train types. For example, zugtyp=IC,EC,ICE will only show those trains. Aside from common train types you can also restrict the display to show operators other than DB so, for Köln, zugtyp=IC,EC,ICE,THA,HKX would also show Thalys and HKX's Hamburg trains.
platform= : allows you to restrict the display to a single platform or group of platforms. For example platform=6,7 will only show trains at those platforms.
zeilen= : The number of trains displayed.
via= : is a switch to display or not display the list of stations a train calls at.
lang= & SecLang= : lang= left blank defaults unsurprisingly to German but you can add a second language. For example SecLang=en will give you English subtitles in some areas.

I'll leave you to experiment with the other switches...

You don't need one in Germany! They're every few minutes, unlike in the UK where it's all on the roads.
