What have they done to Phil's voice? Not a patch on the real thing :{

Interestingly, Phil says "Horsforth" while Celia says "Horsfth" (correctly). But, she then says "Garforth" instead of "Garfth", which Phil says correctly. Weird.

This website is the fantastic work of @MrJeeves and the files on that site are the original ones used by the Amey system. They were released under FOI to KeTech. It's missing some of the later corrections, and most recent stations.

There is no "What have they done to Phil's voice?" about it, that is how the recordings actually are.

I believe a small number of stations might have been patched together using the existing recordings (Brent Cross West and some others?)

None of which answers my (probably hypothetical) question of what have they done with Phil's voice. Or did with it.

Can you expand on what you mean? Those are the original files. I obtained the files through an FOI request and they are the exact ones that played all over the National Rail network. MrJeeves used those original files that i obtained to create that generator. Nothing has been modified and his voice was not altered. It sounds completely normal to me. Not sure what you think sounds odd?

Just listened to one and it sounded perfectly normal to me! Quite a fun site in a highly nerdy way :lol:

Need to buy some massive speakers to get the full Phil Sayer echo experience a la Birmingham New Street. Great site!

It's so disappointing that Worldline threatened the lawyers honestly. :rolleyes:
Worldline are a bunch of jobsworths. Why would you care about an enthusiasts site uploading announcements for non commercial purposes. It was such an over the top reaction from them. KeTech were happy to give permission for the Celia and Phil files to be released and they are another CIS company. It is a shame that Worldline do not have the same common sense.
