Oh didn't you know the new & "improved" NRE website is nothing but a complete & utter farce?

It looks like someone's let their teenage kids loose at the project; When they first put it up nothing would work for hours, it was full of horrendous errors & glitches and it still is.

It's like rail privatisation a complete joke & a disaster.

Exactly what he said, just do as I've been doing and report bugs to NRE.

It seems to be claiming that some of the FCC arrivals are coming in about 3 hours early.
Also, some of the departures are shown as due to leave up to 90 minutes early.

However, it is also showing yesterday's emergency FCC timetable when the normal timetable is actually running today!

What i like is how the Southern one for London Road (Brighton) also shows times for London Road Guilford at the same time.

Yes, the FCC data today was messed up online - but the stations seemed to have the right info.

My 0902 train from Hatfield to King's Cross was apparently starting from Cambridge with an additional stop at Potters Bar. The train hadn't even left Cambridge according to the online information, but it did turn up on time and didn't call at Potters Bar (I hope nobody boarding had assumed it would). In other words, it ran as normal and had presumably started at Hitchin as intended.

It's bad enough that FCC was using two timetables at once and giving out 100-200 service updates speaking of cancellations. Bad in that it confused everyone, but terrible from a PR point of view, but worse because of the number of websites and Twitter/blog posts saying FCC had no trains running shows that most people didn't realise that there were so many duplicates. Well, if you get an SMS from FCC saying that the 0820, 0840, 0900, 0920 services are cancelled (or whatever) then why would you assume that there's an 0820, 0840... snow timetable train that IS running?

The person responsible for uploading the data for each day should be given a right b*******g for this as FCC looks far worse than they needed to (which is still pretty bad, for TL passengers at least!).

I get a daily email alert from FCC each afternoon telling me if there is any disruption to northbound services home from Potters Bar.

yesterday, I got this :

Subject: No known disruption Potters Bar to Letchworth Garden City
From: "First Capital Connect Alerting Service"
Date: Mon, January 11, 2010 3:45 pm

There are no disruptions reported at this time affecting services between your selected stations Potters Bar to Letchworth Garden City.

It's all well and good having a message or email saying everything is fine, but if you then get an email with 170 service updates saying 'nn:nn cancelled' - aren't you going to assume every service is cancelled and something pretty major has happened?

How do you know (as Joe Public) that it's okay, the 1530 King's Cross to Cambridge has been cancelled, but there's now a 1531 service that IS running. Unless you make a specific enquiry, which wasn't working well last week when the National Rail website was swamped - resulting in FCC's own Journey Check giving an error for the live running information - you're not going to know.

I think the incorrect information threw a LOT of people. It confused me last Friday when I saw everything down (again, by the service updates). It was only a check of the actual data that showed the duplication.
