Linked stations on the Underground.

There is an increasing number of 'linked' stations on the LUL map. For example, White City/Wood Lane and Bank/Monument. Are there any other less obvious examples? I am not sure what LUL considers acceptable as "walking distance".

I think Shepherd's Bush is shown thus now? The official route being via the large shopping centre that opened there a year or two ago?

Bank/Monument at the very least is, when everything is open, a single station in practice as a passenger

I'd guess the two Hammersmith stations are 'linked' (although they are separated by a busy road)

Out of Station Interchanges (OSI) are arguably implying what LUL sees as reasonable walking distance between stations. Most (if not all) are on MikeWh's website so may as well link it: http://www.oyster-rail.org.uk/out-of-station-interchange-osi/

I personally think Ickenham - West Ruislip should be added for interchange with LUL/NR

Kentish Town and Kentish Town West is an interesting case in point; with no interchange shown between the Northern Line and London Overground. They have an OSI of 20 minutes (the same as Wood Lane/White City) but no link on the map.

The Hammmersmith stations used to be connected by a subway under the road so it really was a walking interchange. Euston and Euston Square I seem to recall were once connected.

I wouldn't be surprised. I'll look it up some time. They should, in my opinion, be parts of the same station. I've known tourists to get quite confused by the situation.

I beleive HS2 redevelopment would intergrate Euston and Euston Square, with new platforms too IIRC...

I've been using Warren Street station for a good number of journeys recently and I think from an infrastructural point of view, you're right, but pax will associate Euston Square with Euston and think they're closer, which is how it feels at street level anyway.

It would be quite costly, but having a subterranean interchange between Euston Square, Warren Street and Euston itself would be useful in the event of disruption and would probably involve passages of a reasonable and certainly not unheard-of length, and I am pretty sure, from what I can see from tube trains, that there are quite a few staff passages of a similar nature anyway.

It would make sense for Bayswater and Queensway to be linked, seeing as they're about 200m apart on the same street!

Why bother with that when Camden Road and Camden Town are closer together (about a 5 minutes walk and almost on the same street).

Good point. It is interesting that the Overground network is being hailed a success for adding connections (without actually publicising some of them). I suspect that Camden Town/Road aren't linked on the map because of existing overcrowding.
