lineside fire at peterborough

There is a line side fire i nthe Peterborough area causing delays to all trains out of kings cross.

All services out of Kings Cross suspended due to the fire. They are breaking out the free water on the 1648 Grand Cental!

Bridge 1084 which is the bridge just before Peterborough which crosses the River Nene has somehow caught fire meaning no services to or from London via Huntingdon can use it.

As soon as the Fire Brigade have finished then the Structural Engineer will examine the bridge.

As there were no steam trains in the vicinity, I wonder what NR are going to blame/ban this time?

All lines now reopened, 16:23 Kings Cross to Peterborough to be the first FCC to operate though to Peterborough.

Train Replacement Services still in operation between Peterborough and Huntingdon.

You should be fine, residual delays now seem to be confined to FCC

We left KX bang on time and all FCC seem to be running to time now as well.

The only thing is the heat on this train is brutal as per seems the norm for the MK4 coaches. At least with the HST's if the air con is not working well you can go to the vestible area and lower a window for a cool breeze.
