Would it be feesable to run passenger services from Bodmin Parkway to Bodmin Central if the line was reopened to National Rail? Especially if the proposed extension to Wadebridge was built. It would be more feesable and i think could generate enough passengers

Saltash
Liskeard
Bodmin Parkway
Bodmin General
Boscarne Junction
Wadebridge (extention)

I would assume that if it was seen as being sucessful then the idea would have been proposed. I see it as possible to make something of it espeically the extention to wadebridge as that is hard enough to reach by road.

Do the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway own the line outright, or can a "compolsury purhase order" be exercised. Or are they leasing it? Im not sure how these things work. As with Okehampton they are transferring the line so to speak.

Or am i talking complete dross and the line would not at all be worthwhile?

Would be ideal to see Wadebridge reconnected to the Network, as the line there survived for freight until 1978, seemed rather 'short-sighted' for the access to the station not to be protected, there is continually updates in the Bodmin and Wenford Magazine on all the 'business' of the proposed extension. Without appearing to be rude/sarcastic though, there never was a Bodmin Central or any plans to have one?? Always seemed one the stupidest closures with the line to Wadebridge and through to Padstow, see how busy that coast is now, the connecting Bus (boo hiss) service is listed as stopping at 'Padstow Old Railway Station'

I think it would be a fantastic idea. Just a couple of problems to solve though.

Currently trains would have to gain the up line. Shunt into a headshunt and set back to gain the branch platform. Reverse again up to Bodmin General then reverse again to wadebridge.

This would be much simpler if the up platform had not been extended to accomodate larger trains. I do not believe that there is room to make a direct link now into the Branch Platform from the Up/Down main line without significant engineering at the up end. I hope I am wrong.

Maybe the best and most pragmatic idea would be a 153 or 150 connecting properly with main line trains at Bodmin Parkway.

Although it is a long term effort to get to Wadebridge again, and I echo the sentiments voiced before about the closure, does anyone have any idea about when this will start to be rebuilt?

Cheers
