Passengers turfed off at Dundee, Police apparently searching train, but cancellation of 1A55 09.08 from Edinburgh to Aberdeen on RTT says owing to high winds....

Report from passenger; "A man in a yellow vest said they are chainsawing the tree as we speak and hopefully will have something sorted soon"

UPDATE..apologies for incorrect info a few minutes ago, passengers loaded on another train, then detrained again, services not yet resumed

1A55 terminated Dundee to form 1E15 start Dundee.

Cross-country 1V66 will start Montrose.

Original tree cleared now another found so 1E19 will be later start.

Liked expected fully open about 1205pm

Trees causing issue are in Portlethen area.

Passengers have now been siphoned off on to MegaBus for free, but not before some of them had bought tickets....

Those pesky trees strike again. Once again NR in react mode.
Remember government put a block on tree felling after lots of pressure from Woodland Trust, unsure of current process they need to follow to fell trees.

Also, these trees may of been on private property.

What are they supposed to do?
Fell every tree within 100ft of the railway?
Have staff out by every tree in case they fall over?
Strikes me that from the reports earlier they were on scene and dealing with this remarkably quickly.

No of course not, that’s utterly ridiculous and you know it.

They need to do much better than they are just now. Trust me, as a driver, some areas of my routes are bad but there’s nothing been done. It’s something they need to start taking seriously before another driver gets injured or worse!
