Not necessarily if you shop around a bit you can get a powerful mid-range card for around £150. If you sacrifice a bit of performance you can still pick up some very good cards for around £100. I mean okay that's still quite a bundle of cash but still shouldn't take someone that long to save up for.

My latest card set me back £250. I suppose it wouldn't take all that long to save (if you could track one down on the cheap) but I like to buy the proper stuff to ensure full quality and performance.

Well if you want to spend top whack then you can easily blow £250+ on graphics cards (never had that much to spend on one personally). My point simply was that a good performing graphics card that will play even the latest games on decent resolutions with plenty of options turned up will still only cost in the region of £150.

I appear to have misunderstood some of your points.

Apologies.

Editing does show up on the post though, that's the only problem!

It does but as long as you make the edit within a minute or so, I've noticed that the forum software doesn't record it as an edit which can be shall we say 'handy' at times

Or put spelling and grammar in the reason for editing.

If I where getting a new graphics card at this minuite, I would go for an Nvidia Fermi card. Probably a GTX 560
