Lincoln LNER cancellation advice

Hi All,

a friend has an advance ticket for the LNER Lincoln to Peterborough 18:20 service, which has been cancelled, along with seemingly every LNER service from Lincoln for the rest of the day. The service page only says that replacement bus services would be organised between Lincoln and Newark. https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service-disruptions/newark-castle-20260823/

Would they be allowed to drive to Newark Northgate and catch a different LNER service from there?

Normally they allow acceptance on the service(s) 2 hours either side of your booked train.
