I've currently got a collection of over 20 different Oyster card variants, and whilst digging around for information on them all (and looking for new additions to my collection) - I've come across one on the Wikipedia article entitled

"2015 London Design Awards "Girls Night Out" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oyster_card

Now, does anyone know anything about this design? I have never seen any on ebay and a google search (including image search) returns a big fat zilch too...

So my question is - does it actually exist?? or is it a phantom wiki entry?

In 2015 Mel Elliot won the London Design Awards with her "Girls Night Out" themed wallet.

It would appear to be the wallet. I can't see any other references to an actual card with that design.

This one presumably?

Concur with @trainmania100 that the design appears to be for an Oyster Card wallet, rather than an actual Oyster Card. Certainly looks like something that could be folded in half.

Thanks both, I hadn't come across this before - it's definitely not an actual oyster card though, just a wallet....

Appreciated :)
There's a bloke out there that collects the network rail ticket wallets too I think, I've got a green one I picked up at okehampton. Nice to collect

I've been spending some time researching the various limited edition oyster cards, and trying to find out how limited they are especially the Tutunkhamun visitors oyster.

I put an FOI into TFL - https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/limited_edition_oyster_cards_sum?nocache=incoming-2038366#incoming-2038366 and sadly they only keep records for 7 years generally and have no record of how many of the Tutunkhamun one were issued back in 2007...

My guess is it's in the low end numbers wise based on the pricing and scarcity on ebay.. But wondered if anyone knows of a reference where it's mentioned?

If TfL don't know, reckon you might be struggling.

Presume this is what you're looking for...

Specimens seem to have been offered for low three figure sums on Ebay.

P.S. It's Tutankhamun isn't it?

Yeah, that's the one... I've got one in my collection, and know the going rate - which suggests there weren't that many issued...

Some have been as low as 500 issued (The adidas trainer ones), 1000 for the Adidas Arsenal one.. up to 1,500,000 for the Buckingham Palace Jubilee one...

I'm edging on the 1000 or less mark tbh...

Issued in 2007 and described as "limited edition", whatever that actually means!

Wonder how many simply got binned, lost or discarded?
