Likeliness of getting a apprenticeship

Hello, Am currently a student and am looking for an Apprenticeship in the Rail Industry, My Closest TOC at the moment is Greater Anglia, but I may be going to Uni in september, so would it be worth getting an apprenticeship or what?

Yep, UCAS is sent off, Getting some offers, Just wondering if it is possible to do something between now and september as well.

Out of interest what courses did you apply for? Obviously in the rail industry someone with a Transport Management or Engineering degree will likely have an upper hand on someone with an Archaeology or Sports Science degree

Go Uni then apply as a graduate, loads of TOC's have graduate programs.

Give uni consideration, but it may not be for you, it wasn't for me especially studying part time but I stuck it it and ended up very well. It'll give you more options in the long run. I just graduated from doing Aeronautical Engineering and the TOC I applied to for a drivers role were quite interested in the technical side. Plus it allowed me to sail through that part of the selection, the assessment for my uni used very similar tests! Good luck!

I don't know about that I've got an Archaeology degree and I'm a driver

Forensic Sciene/ Forensic Investigation, I'm Just considering it is all.

Whatever you do don't do a Degree in Computer Programming. Exceptionally hard work and leads to low paid office jobs. Having said that it did slightly help me get my job as a Maintenance Depot Driver, even though its got nothing to do with Computers, but the fact that completing a Degree is good evidence that you can stick out a long training course.
