Light Locos to and from Cleethorpes - what are they working?

(Sorry if this is the wrong forum)
I've noticed two light locos (one operated by Colas and one Europheonix) and was wondering if anyone knew why they are running. I would suggest route learning for freight trains but then why are they going out to Cleethorpes, as it's a dead-end terminus.
Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Route learners being hired in by a passenger TOC? How many trainee drivers can you fit in a loco cab?
Or freight drivers refreshing it for summer excursions?
