Got a query regarding station lifts and in particular the now standard type as required by Network Rail.
Our lift at Hertford North just installed last year is the same type as at Welwyn Garden City, Maidenhead and other places, now the lift has a sensor which causes it to refuse to work if it gets too cold - in other words, if it's cold enough you cannot call the lift to the platform but you can send it to the platforms from the subway which is daft as you're more or less doubling back on yourselves.
The lift has been faulted various times and it's this sensor that's causing a lot of grief, the BR installed lift never gave us this much hassle, anyone from NWR or similar know of any cures for the sensor?
