No, Im not looking for information about the job, or how to become a train driver.
Im looking for stories about a driver who simply tells the reader what happens during a day and couple of days.

I have seen district Daves website which stories. Similar to that.

Try this It is mainly around the time of the Life on the Leicester line. It is an enjoyable read of a man who starts as a second man and works his way to driver. From what I understand he is still a driver with EMT and its partially his stories which makes me want to become a driver.

But if you look further on the original site linked to there is a trainee drivers blog. You can skip through to later on when he's actually driving for more of an insight. The poor chap also had to deal with a fatality on just his 5th solo turn:

He's no longer with EMT Pilgrim, he is now with us at Freightliner HH and working trains out of Mantle Lane / Bardon Hill, so is firmly back on home turf

Do they still use Mantle Lane? It looked a little over grown now. I live near by in Swadlincote and still haven't seen anything go through Gresley Tunnel(though I know the s-class stock goes through)
