Apologies if this has already been asked, but I'm puzzled. I bought a Lichfield Gold Card last year, as widely-advertised, to benefit from the discount - as far as I'm aware, a completely legitimate purchase (I'm in the SE, travelling into Euston). In the past I've had the Isle of Wight Gold Card and never had any problems using or renewing it.
This evening I asked to renew the Lichfield card for another year and the ticket-office insisted that this annual season is 'no longer a Gold Card', has to be printed on a blue ticket and will not give any discount on fares in the SE area.
Is this true? They claimed the conditions had been changed this year but I've found no mention of this anywhere online.
Hope someone can advise. Thanks.
