Hmm .. Interesting. Possible conversion for replacing older RTC test train stock? Or is that unlikely?
There's been a fair few ex-ATW/GA Mk3s filtering through the RTC recently, seem to have been visiting for contract maintenance from LORAM rather than anything to do with Network Rail. Replacing Mk1s/Mk2s with Mk3s on the infrastructure monitoring fleet isn't really likely because their route availability (as 23m vehicles vice 20m) is so much lower.

Thanks Townsend Hook. Good to hear! Sometimes seems like no sooner do I clear my departmental carriages (ie seen in departmental service) than they get some more!

I'm looking for info about Mk3 sleeper withdrawal and disposal / scrapping - but I don't seem to be able to find a related thread. Could someone point me in the right direction please? Many thanks

Does anyone have the numbers off the rail operations group mk3 coaches in store at bicester mod Gbrf Depot please in the rail operations group sidings I have on list 12183 12184 12185 which got moved up last November 2020.
However may the 10th 2021 another five moved there.
However 12180 returned the following day on may 11th 2021 back to derby rtc network rail Depot.

However that leaves x4 ex tfw rail operations group vehicles there does anyone know or have the identity off those vehicle numbers please.
And a update list off the ex Anglia mk3s at derby and castle donington emdc Depots respectively off which rail operations group have please.
Thank you.

5Q42 1245 to Crewe CS runs later.

22/09 0950 Ely to Newport Docks.

I wonder if the clearout of Ely is about to begin then; being buckeye / alliance coupler fitted vehicles in that move, I would hazard a guess at it being either the FRH or any of the remaining ex LNER Mk3s.

There’s no FRH vehicles at Ely: they’re either in GWR property or at Long Marston (presumably First are now paying Porterbrook to store them).

I think you’ll find there is, I looked into acquiring one of the 3 of them ;)

Maybe the 317s even.
Because a 3 weeks ago these vehicles was involved in a move with a 769 from burton to wolverton centre sidings.
3 weeks ago this week.
Maybe as a trial for the moves.
Interesting to see what those next two days fetch up.

Yesterday's move from Ely to Newport were a set of ex LNER Mk3s from HST sets.

DVTs 82126 and 82101 have been taken to Booths. These are the Pretendolino DVT and the spare (which never received the new Virgin livery). After use by Virgin and (and Greater Anglia in the case of 82126) they were sold to DRS, who never used them and they remained stored until disposed of.

DVT 82149, which had been at the fire service college in Moreton in Marsh for a number of years, was apparently taken to Sims at Newport for scrapping in January this year.

5Q76 37884 12185 12184 12183 82307 82308 12181 12178 12177 12179 82107

So that's seven out of the ten ex-Wales TSOs, two out of the three DVTs, and an ex-Anglia DVT

10618 at Bodmin is no longer used and is decaying and may well be disposed of (their February 2022 magazine says).
