Lewes - so S L O W

This Q may have already been answered .. Why is the journey into (from Eastbourne) and out again (towards Brighton) from Lewes so slow? Obviously a speed restriction for some reason or other?

15 mph speed limit just out of the station by the crossover from the Eastbourne line onto the opposite line and to P5. Not totally sure why it is 15 though.

always used to be 10 mph through lewes, must have changed

Well, it's not often that they can claim a 50% increase in line speed...

Well it was 10mph the other day when I went through... Apparently it hasn't been changed from the days in which the platfrom between 2 and 3 existed.

Slight mistake there then, havent been from Lewes to Brighton for a while now.
