Level Crossings on the WCML and ECML

With the last level crossing between Euston and Wolverhampton (at Tipton)being replaced by a bridge this weekend, I was wondering how many level crossings there are left on the WCML between Euston and Glasgow. I think they are just 3, all in Scotland with the first one being on a minor road just north of Kirkpatrick. Only 1 of the 3 is on a major road, that being on the A706 near Lanark.

On the ECML, things are completely different with the first level crossing being encountered just north of Sandy.

That is what I believe ............... unless, of course, somebody knows something different

At least 3 still left on the Colwich junction to Cheadle Hulme section of the WCML (through Stoke towards Manchester). At Barlaston, Wedgewood (both South of Stoke)and Mow Cop (between Kidsgrove and Congleton).

Difficult not to miss ! Canley was closed completely, no cars can cross at all. Tile Hill was replaced by an overbridge and Berkswell with a drainpipe.

There is also still a level crossing on WCML at Hest Bank, north of Lancaster.

There is another on a little further towards Carnforth too, not sure what its called though.

Brock (Preston-Lancaster) has a miniature Red/Green level crossing.

Cove LC north of Carlisle which until recently marked the boundary between LNW and Scotland areas of Network Rail.

I think a lot of the ECML level crossings are due to be phased out. They cause nothing but headaches, and problems like this:

Passing through the Carlisle area over the weekend, I noticed that the level crossing at Floriston (bewteen Kingmoor and Longtown) is still there, though now has full barriers rather than the AHB that it was previously.

The first barriered road level crossing on the ECML is indeed north of Sandy (Tempsford, IIRC), but there's a number of farm tracks and bridlepath crossings near Langford. (I live near there, and cross them quite a lot on foot/bike - it's surprisingly nervewracking...)

The farm tracks are quite vital for the farmers in question, who regularly cross with agricultural machinery. Plans to change this do surface regularly in local press, but I don't know what's to come of it.

i dont think it's practical on the ECML to remove the farm crossings for such a low level of traffic. The road crossings do need to be gradually replaced, however.

The problem is some of the back roads e.g. Nine Bridges road, south of tallington (the next crossing up from Helpston) is such a small road, there's no place to bridge it without knocking down some of the old humpback bridges. The road then has to get back down to level cross the Stamford line.

I don't see the first one from Waverley, just outside Lonniddry being replaced either, especially as the two roads it connects run along each side of the line, with farmland and forest on one side past a small A road, and a dual carriageway on the other.
On the dual carriageway side, there's only about 1 car length between the crossing and the main road.
On the other side, the Aroad road turns 90 degrees left at a junction about 30ft or so beyond the crossing, with a house on the near and far left sides of the junction as you come over the crossing.

Also, at the start of the video, you have to be at that angle when turning onto the crossing from that side to be off the dual carriageway.

There three in Stone alone. Meaford, Church lane and the Uttoxeter road (can't remember the name of the lane) so thats at least 6 but they are all technically on the North Staffs Route.
