Hey wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me out. Iv been working on a person app project using the rail data feeds and I am ready to start beta testing.

My Google Android app actually requires 12 people to have tested the app for 14 days before I can try to release it.

The app allows you to register for a level crossing and be sent notifications when a train approaches. Meaning you can plan if its worth avoiding a level crossing at busy times to avoid traffic or to let you know the best time to travel through a crossing.

If you would like to help me out you need to join the google group here: https://groups.google.com/g/isthecrossingdown
then
this link should enable you to opt-in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/uk.isthecrossingdown.trainapp

If you could keep the app for 14 days that would be great.

Thankyou.

Bummer - if it was on iOS, my daughter coud use this as the direct route to her new work is across the Botany Bay crosssing north of Retford but you can held for quite aa few trains (my "record" is 7). The alternative via Retford itself is not much longer but can have a lot more traffic.

Could I just ask, please, about the data sources?

...because if it's the same sources as Real Time Trains and Open Train Times uses, not everything will necessarily appear on either - the latter does not cover the entire country because it relies on a certain type of signalling system being present while the former will not show anything which has been put on the system at short notice or which has been diverted at short notice.

How do you guard against the possibility of someone thinking a crossing is clear when there is a short notice or unplanned movement approaching?
