The early morning Metros that turn at Sunderland station arrive straight into the northbound platform using the crossover, and the driver changes ends in the platform, with boarding and alighting being allowed throughout the process. I don't know what the late night terminating ones do before running back to South Gosforth, as I always get off the inbound run at Seaburn or Stadium of Light.I'll have to check that about the Metro at Sunderland, never normally look. I'm not even sure if the Metros ever use a different platform when going towards South Hylton, unless the ones that termiante at Sunderland in the early morning/late evening use the northbound platform. Would assume that they'd go into the siding and then reverse.
