Thanks for that.

I did open the floor on WICK as I was going away too.

Aah - I have now struck through my latests posting.

This leaves us with the current riddle...
My first is north-westerley, but not in Timperley.
My second is heroic, (it's also in stoic).
My third is derived, but not from chives.
My fourth you won't know; it's both fast and slow.
My fifth is in fourth* but it's not very coarse.
My sixth is in Woodstock and Snoopy, but not Lucy.
My seventh will rotate, but won't oscillate.
My eighth's not in muzzle, but in mustard (that's a puzzle†)
My last is the not last, it's the same as the clue first.

*The word 'fourth', not the fourth clue.
†The clue is 'a puzzle', not the letter.

I believe that's Horsforth.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
I'm assuming it's correct so here's one in tribute to all the contributers so far:

My first is in OxtedL and Paul Sidorczuk
My second is in Fishquinn and IanD, (what luck!)
My third is in Fishquinn and johnnychips too
My fourth is backontrack but not in a Class172
My fifth is in OxtedL but not Paul this time
My sixth is in IanD and DanTrainMan185
My seventh is backontrack still not in a Class172!
My last is my last and in OxtedL, now over to you....

(I'm assuming Sidorczuk rhymes with luck, apologies if not! Also, apologies for the dodgy 5th/6th rhyme.)

I'll make it easier for you:

My first is for Looe and in toilet too
My second is in in innit and in it
My third is in please and tease and squeeze
My fourth is in the sky but not on the sly
My fifth is in Devon and also in Severn
My sixth is in Cornwall and tall Paul
My seventh is hard and part of the guard
My last is in land and buried in sand

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
My first is in bat and also in ball
My second in cry, but never in call
My third is dive, but never in swim
My fourth is in Andrew, but never in Jim
My fifth is in lizard, but not in a snake
My sixth is in creek, but not in a lake
My final in koala, though not in a bear
My whole near the Sky Blues, in need of repair!

I am somewhat confused by the fourth line....no same letters.

My 1st is in 'print screen' and also in enter
My 2nd is in home but not in sleep
My 3rd is in 'windows key' and also in 'sysrq'
My 4th is in delete and also in 'page down'
My 5th is in 'scroll lock' but not in 'pause break'
My 6th is in 'number lock' but not in 'wake up'

You can see my inspiration,
yet the answers a tough one,
but if you keep looking,
it's hiding, have fun.

My first is in weasel, and also in stoat
My second in owl, but never in goat
My third is in pig, but never in dog
My fourth is in newt, but never in frog
My fifth is in turtle and also in tortoise
My sixth is in dolphin, and also in porpoise
My final in coney, but not in a rabbit
My whole is two places that pigs may inhabit
Two places, you ask? It's daft, I supposes
It's the same name you'll find in each of the Roses

Swinton (South Yorkshire)?

I'm hoping for more activity in this thread - just realised the sad fate of our Mornington Crescent game...

Apologies, been away too. Coming up right away.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
My first is in castle, not tower or keep.
My second's in palava. Won't drip, but will leak.
My third is in backontrack - two times over.
My fourth is in Sandwich and Whitstable - not Dover.
My fifth is in Poultry and Trout - that is true.
My sixth's in Paul Hollywood, but not Mel or Sue.
My seventh appears in Wakefield and weir.
My eight is in Avon, not Nene, but in Aire.
My ninth is in Twix, not Mars, fix, but not mend.
My tenth is in tenth. We're near the end
of the puzzle, and I think that we ought to reflect
that eleven is in it, also in regret.

Bump!

I really don't want this game to be a failure.

It must be an open floor now. I'll respond soon, going to go and think of one to post.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Words related to clues are in bold type. Others are to add rhymes.

This one's a bit muddled:

My first is quite skeletal; it's also in Jack
O' Lantern, the second is inside the Black
Lagoon, but not swamp, my third's in Hallowe'en
My fourth is in brown, but not coloured green
My fifth is in wizard, and witch, but not ghost.
My sixth is in ghost, and it's scary the most.
My seventh's in tradition; you shout 'Trick or Treat!'
Watch out for my eighth and the monsters you'll meet.
My last is a horror; your lost sanity you'll grieve
My whole is a town that you'll find south of Steve. (-nage.)

Come on!

Thanks.

The first letter can be A or K

Haven't checked the rest but looking for small towns south of Stevenage beginning with A or K I'd suggest that you've missed out the third letter which is not in SWAMP but is in HALLOWEEN (H/E/L/O/N) ??

Just a heads-up, going to be away in Oxford for most of the day.

I have asked IanD to submit the right answer if it is also posted by Fishquinn or another user.

Been almost a month so here's another:

My first word is wet, that's all that you'll get
My second word for you, so here is the clue
The first is in Cannon but never in Ball
The second in Richie but never in Hall
The third is in Tommy but never in Cooper
The fourth is in Norden also in his bloopers
The last is in O'Briain but not Dara too
The whole is liquid gold weight, a cryptic clue
