leicester- nuneaton XC line voyager?

Hello, last saturday and 2 before last I have seen a cross country super voyager running, anyone know why its here? The line usually runs 170's..

There has been a shortage of XC senior conductors at Birmingham recently. Voyagers have been showing up on 170 services as there have been available train managers.

Voyagers are cleared on the Birmingham-Stansted route, but only as far as Leicester I believe, possibly to Cambridge but not as far as Stansted I don't think?

Cross Country have also run that was as a diversion for many years, so that's a possibility.

I don't think they are cleared for the tunnel at Stansted, nor could they fit in the bay (well, a 5-car wouldn't). They can't use the main platforms regularly on account that diesels aren't permitted there (due to them being sheltered).

They are cleared to cambridge. They cannot go into stansted due to an overly sensitive fire alarm!
