Leicester Bus Running Day.

A good selection of ex LCT and visiting vehicles will be doing numerous rides around leicester, these will include mini tours, two hour long tours and among others, a longer route to Quorn station on the GCR.

All rides are free and there will be places to eat at the Space Centre, City Centre and there is a lovely tea room at the GCR!

Scania Metropolitan 301 and Metro-Scania 225 are lined up to attend. not many of these buses knocking about so now is a good time to get a ride on one.

It's also beside the seaside day at the abbey pumping station. Home made cakes in the refreshment room. Also donkey rides and a fun fair plus a beach and a boating lake.

Ah the colours on that poster take me back to my 60s childhood trudging to the old concrete st margarets bus station for the midland red bus home as the nice cream coloured Leiecster city Corportaion busses didnt go out to Birstall:cry:

I believe AEC Renown 329 will be on display. The museums leyland titan 164 is up at snibston at the moment. The delaines tiger cub will also be on display at the museum. Plus try the chips from the 1939 coal fired fish and chips van.

I second that! the chips are nice!

Shame there isn't some way that the delaine tiger cub couldn't operate the odd run.

Anyone know if the confidence RM will turn up, it broke down the other week?
