Leeds to Thornaby 21.03.10

Hi all,

I’m travelling between Leeds(LDS) and Thornaby(TBY) on 21st of March (a Sunday) and I wanted to check that if I were to buy an off peak day single ticket for travelling on the service at 14:12 (arriving at TBY 15:43) I wouldn't actually be bound to that particular train. (I’m expecting quite a heavy night on Saturday so making a train could be an issue ) So assuming I do miss that train would I also be able catch a later service like the 15:08 or even an earlier service depending on how things develop?

Yes, on a Sunday the cheap day single priced at £25.60 is completely unrestricted. However, you can save £5 by buying seperate Leeds-York and York-Thornaby route not Darlington tickets.

Thanks clagmonster, I thought that was the case but better safe than sorry! Also one last question, if I were to get an off peak return whats the period of validity on that is it a month or a specific day?

The return portion of an Off Peak Return (obviously not Off Peak Day Return) can be used any day in the one month from the start date - so for a ticket issued to start on 25 February the return can be made up to and including 24 March.

2 x singles is cheaper than an Off Peak return for York - Thornaby if avoiding Darlington.
