Any idea what was causing all early morning Leeds to Skipton services to be cancelled this morning?

Congratulations to Northern Rail for ensuring the 08:32 Leeds to Forster Square departed 3 minutes late but also ensuring the 08:49 Shipley to Skipton departed smack bang on time to prevent many passengers using that useful connection as an alternative :roll:

According to their Twitter feed a train broke down on the line.

It's standard practice across all operators to not hold services unless it's the last train of the day. It's a side effect of a franchise system with operators being assessed on punctuality.

Presumably all a reaction to 2H16 06:57 LDS - SKI being cancelled at Shipley when 333004 failed in Platform 2

That's exactly it. All Leeds to Skipton trains had to go through platform 4 reverse and run through and stop at Platform 5
