I'm planning a short day trip to Sheffield while my wife and I are staying in Leeds next February, but all the outward journeys are partly by bus, but the return legs are not.

What is going on please ?

thank you

BTW .. Hope everybody had / is having a good Christmas

Does it matter that the out is on the 2nd and the return is on the 23rd? They do have funny days in Yorkshire ;)

The buses are only between Meadowhall and Sheffield, so a relatively short stretch. However, the fast service via Barnsley is reduced to every hour (and still down to use Platform 17B at Leeds, so likely to only be two carriages).

If you have an ENCTS bus pass issued in England (I note your use of Senior Railcard), you could also use the Supertram from Meadowhall to Sheffield City Centre for free, regardless of whether it's a pass issued outside of South Yorkshire, which may be preferable as the tram will drop you in the centre as opposed to the station.
