Platform 5c and 6a displays have now been changed from when I last checked.
Yup. Walked in this morning, there are three screens near the escalator... and one has a big (ish) clock

Can't vouch for its accuracy though. And there's over half the screen blank above it, which I hope gets filled with something useful.

Piccadilly has one 'blank' screen next to the A-Z departures that I presume can get filled with custom messages. It's normally filled with the name of the station duty manager, but I've seen it filled with warnings about strikes, limited Northern Sunday services.

I presume the version at Leeds will eventually be used the same.

It was showing a message when I last looked. I think it was exactly the same message as was shown on the previous screen at the same location.

Which one? South Entrance or somewhere else?

They've fitted a new LED display in the ticket office now.

In front of P8, just beyond the gate line. Following on from your comment about P5C and P6A, so in the same area.

10b, 10a and 11a displays have now been changed. 8c was done yesterday.

1c, 4b, 5b and some clock and departure displays still to be changed on the west side. But they're starting to go across the station now.

4b, 5b and 8a departure screens have been changed now. I was in Leeds this morning and keeping track of which ones have been changed.

They're certainly taking their time on relaying the pavement on the station approach. They must have knocked up the pyramids faster.

To paraphrase The Golden Girls' Dorothy Zbornak: "Fine, get me 20,000 Hebrews and I'll have it re-paved in no time".

Yes. It does seem to be a bit slow, coming up from Boar Lane. The rest I can understand, that's a big civils project. There would also need to be a change to the traffic lights on the Boar Lane/New Station Street junction, to allow traffic out (once it's turned), unless that has gone in already?

I'm forever having to weave past delivery vehicles of a morning !

Just out of curiosity... Does anybody know or have any information of when the conversion of all the PIS screens in Leeds station will be completed?

I haven't seen anything from Network Rail about it though.

Shame that there are no longer any large clocks on the platforms. It's getting hard to judge if I need to walk quicker. Must annoy the dispatchers.

If Betjeman was around, he'd probably be writing Elegy for a Station Clock... or Railway Time...

Isn't there one on P0/P1, with white text, that went in when P0 was built?

Yes there's 0 and 1 that already have the new ones. So I would think they would eventually start replacing the rest of the older ones around the station soon with the same as on 0 and 1.

Nearly everything has been done in terms of LED displays on platforms except for 1c, 9b, a couple departure screens and clocks still to do. But they have now started the upper concourse between platforms.

Maybe this information is buried somewhere in the last 41 pages, but without digging through, does anyone know when the works outside the main entrance are due to be completed? I was there on Monday and it looked like a very extensive and long running project to me! A very big hole...

What with page 1 having lines between the departures and page 2 not doing?

A number of them around the station have been doing that not long after installation.
Just requires a few settings to be adjusted upon installation. I believe they're being fitted through the night and not through the day.

Ha yes, i liked the lines, until they weren’t there!
Is it because one screen shows purely destination and time while the screen next to it shows time and an additional message as to why the train is delayed etc? We only have the latter screen at Victoria so sometimes if all the trains are delayed only two departures might be showing! Not exactly useful

If it is as above then excellent because the extra messages are annoying as hell when you're just wanting a platform number. I won't hold my breath

I wonder what the new ones will look like on the main concourse once fitted. I reckon they'll also be white LED, same as Edinburgh Waverley up in Scotland.

I'll keep watch as I'm there regularly, there's not too many left to do now. Just a few more screens on platforms, the concourse areas and those LED clocks like on 0 and 1.
I reckon it'll be completed sometime in October.

Will the boards on the main concourse be replaced? They are relatively new but annoying show the platform as 'On Time' rather than the platform number most of the time.

I presume they will be since they're all getting changed to white LED. I believed those orange ones were put in when the main entrance completed refurbishment in 2019.

They replaced newer orange ones on Platforms 5 and 6 at Edinburgh Waverley when those screens were installed from platform extensions in 2019. They're now white LED.
